|The Lion, the Witch and the Uplink
I'm not entirely dead (and/or disconnected) but it seems it'll be another month until I have a decent uplink again.
But that's not a good reason to start chewing on ethernet cables or pushing Big Red Buttons[tm] since no Huge Red Spiders of Bitrot will rise from the rubble when the nuclear core has collapsed (of course I only have theoretical proof of this, so perhaps someone ought to experiment).
Also I cannot confirm nor deny the rumours about an upcoming RimDungeon issue...
A tad more confused than usual...

Going home tomorrow. This means I'll have my real box here tomorrow. If you're lucky you'll have a few new RimDungeon comics soon. ;-)
The reign of gandalf will soon be over! (Gandalf is my P133 24M ram laptop which has been my only computer since I got ADSL.)

Why I can't seem to go to bed at a reasonable hour is a mystery that will perhaps always remain unsolved. However I had better sleep so I can hack another day. Signing off at 03:15.
|Tuesday, October 21st, 2003|
Well, well, finally got my home here set up (approximately 500 km north from where I used to live). This new location has it's benefits, one of the most obvious being ADSL. ;-)

|I wish I had a server or two...
Would like to toss up a couple of mailing lists, a homepage or two and a livejournal server... Why didn't anyone give me a huge server with a big pipe for christmas? Anyone got some suggestions? Current Mood: nerdy

Rain, rain, rain... And I'm tired too. Or to summarize, things are going just fine. Current Mood: content

I .. need .. to .. sleep .. now... Current Mood: tired
Ok, I really
should be sleeping now, got a busy day tomorrow. But guess what, I'm up installing debian packages over a slow uplink instead. And it won't even help fix the thing I want to get running anyway nor will I really have use of it within a reasonable timeframe. Ah well, guess the geek in me has come to life... Current Mood: tired

Well, wouldn't you know it was snowing this morning. Anyone care for a snowball? Current Mood: content

|RimFrobnitz, the Tale #1
And there was once upon a time an eeevil bunny, coming from the crystalline tribe. It went on a journey both dangerous and fluffy. During the secret hours of the purple sky it stealthily carried out dark plans, all aiming for world domination.
One day this little ball of scheming cuddliness came accross a looming bridge both tall and wide. Upon this bridge of madness there was a creature of ancient times whose name was even forgotten by the mountains rising high about.
The bunny - being brave despite it's size - greeted saying "Hail, thou being from ages past, may I ask thee to leave this passage to let me through?" After pondering this request for an extended length of time the ancient replied "I will thine request perform although it gives me pain, for this bridge has been my home for countless ages past."
The ancient from times untold, slowly began to move, the bridge it creaked and groaned but did not break and fall. And soon the path was clear for our scheming little friend and although the day was coming to an end, the furry little fellow felt it goals were furthered still. Soon the whole world would be at it's feet, it thought, not realizing that beyond this looming bridge were many secrets shunned by both mortals and beasts.
Will our crystalline friend find the ways it needs to conquer the world or will it have to settle for a medium-sized nation? Stay tuned for the next episode of the RimFrobnitz Tale. Be vigilant. Current Mood: contemplative

Note to self: Sleeping a bit in the middle of the day is a very good idea. Current Mood: content
Well, now I'm definitely tired. I'll be heading off to sleep 30 minutes so if you need me I won't be around... Current Mood: tired

Busy week. Need to conjure up something to say on both tuesday and wednesday. Going to move some stuff into a room today. And need to read a chapter in a book until wednesday. Or if I put it like this: I'm not even going to think about the paper I was supposed to turn in last friday until thursday.
Well I really should start reading now. Be vigilant. Current Mood: energetic

Getting ocaml and cameleon installed on w2k is kind of tricky but with a silly security policy and a bit of hacking anything is possible. Another day, another hacked makefile. Another day, another development tool installed. Doing all this with a 50M quota and no c-compiler complicates things a bit. Lots of chasing prebuilt tools. Be vigilant. Current Mood: thoughtful
Oh, and by the way we're having great weather here now, could just aswell be summer! Be vigilant. Current Mood: happy
Morning, someone was nasty enought to preess the Big Wake-Up Button[tm]. Waiting for the shower, suspect it's blocked by some Evil Purple Bunnies[tm] again. Don't eat your pet when playing NetHack. Be vigilant. Current Mood: sleepy
|Friday, March 14th, 2003|
It seems I did not finish the paper in time but hopefully noone will notice. ;-)
Be vigilant. Current Mood: optimistic
How come one doesn't do what one ought to but instead sit randomly surfing the web until it's faar too late at night?
I strongly suspect the Evil Brenda of Doom is responsible though. Night all. Be vigilant. Current Mood: sleepy
|Thursday, March 13th, 2003|
Well, here we go, writing my first live-journal entry when I ought to be finishing the paper which is due tomorrow...
But perhaps my teacher won't notice if I blow bubbles at her? Then again it might just be late-night delusions of a mind which has been without unix for several days.
Anyway, keep away from the Evil Fluffy Purple Bunnies[tm], until next time. Be vigilant. Current Mood: sleepy
